Part-time Technical Services Clerk
The Valley Cottage Library seeks a dedicated and organized individual for a part-time clerical position within the Technical Services Department. The Technical Services Department is responsible for the ordering, processing, and maintenance of materials collections throughout the library. This job requires the ability to navigate through specialized library software programs such as SirsiDynix Symphony Acquisitions module and relevant online environments. Attention to detail is essential for the processing of varied materials into the library collection. Familiarity with budgeting and invoicing schemes is desired.
The successful candidate will be able to seamlessly transition through multiple computer environments as well as possess excellent oral and written communication skills. This job requires the physical capability to lift, pull and push objects up to 25 pounds.
Hours for this position are Tuesday - Friday, 10AM-4PM.

P/T Circulation Clerk
VCL is looking for a dependable and friendly person to join our busy Circulation department. This part-time clerk position will work Tuesdays 11-3, 4th Saturday 10-5 (even months), 3rd Sunday of the month 12-4 and 5th Saturdays and Sundays as they occur. Additional hours may be available as fits the needs of the library.
The successful candidate will be responsible for checking in and out library materials, issuing library cards, collecting fines/fees and assisting patrons in maintaining their library records in accordance with the procedures and policies of the library, as well as a variety of general clerical duties.
This position requires strong communication and customer service skills, strong computer skills, the ability to juggle multiple demands, and the ability to do physical work such as standing, bending and lifting.
