Registration Calendar

Register for programs by clicking above. In-person or phone sign-up also available by calling 845-268-7700 during library hours.

Registration for Winter 2017 programs occurring January 1 through March 31 opened on January 1 for Nyack School District patrons. Beginning January 15, registration for Winter programs started for out of district patrons.

Please note, registration requires an active email account. The program will send a confirmation and reminder to your email. Please check your SPAM folder or contact the library if you do not see a confirmation or reminder email.

ONGOING PROGRAMS

1000 Books Before Kindergarten: This program promotes reading to newborns, infants, toddlers, and children up to Kindergarten. The goal is to have read 1000 books before your child starts Kindergarten. Stop by the Children’s Room any time to sign up, get more information, and your first reading record.
ANNOUNCEMENTS

A great big “Thank You” and “Congratulations” to our patron Isabella Feeney for creating ‘Turn the Pages’ interactive book display as her Gold Award Girl Scout project! Children and Middle Schoolers are invited to borrow and suggest great books using this permanent display in the Children’s Room. Young children will get a prize when they participate, and Middle and High School kids can earn community service. Stop by to learn more!

Registration for Winter 2017 programs occurring January 1 through March 31 opened on January 1 for Nyack School District patrons. Beginning January 15, registration for Winter programs started for out of district patrons.

School Closing Crafts

Come and take a walk through history in the Children’s Room to celebrate the accomplishments of the Civil Rights Movement.
Make a Valentine

Drop in the Children’s Room anytime from Feb. 7-14 to create a Valentine for the one you love! No registration.

Little Science Explorers

Wednesday, March 29 at 4:30pm
Ages 3-6 years.

Investigate science and technology in this S.T.E.A.M. program for the little ones. We’ll do mini-science experiments, engineering feats, and play with technology and math. Hop on the brain train for some STEAM fun!

Sensory Family Storytime

Select Saturdays at 1pm

Not your traditional storytime! This program lets your little ones discover stories in their own unique style. We’ll explore books and stories through a variety of sensory avenues, including listening to music, playing with story toys, and moving around. A welcoming storytime for all children including those on the autism spectrum or with sensory processing disorders.

It’s play-time in the Storytime Room, no matter what the weather brings! A great chance to meet other local families while you enjoy books, games, toys and puzzles with your little one(s). No registration.



Pint-size Playtime

Fridays from 11:30am – 1:30pm
Age 35 months and under.

Drop in anytime for playtime geared especially for tiny tots under age 3. The storytime room will have early development toys, puzzles, books, and activities for babies and toddlers to discover and learn. Meet other caregivers in the community while your little one explores! No registration.

Please remember:
- Use the child's name to register.
- Program spots are limited and have age restrictions. Once a program fills, patrons will be placed on a waiting list and contacted only if there is room in the program.
- Priority is given to residents of the Nyack School District.
- Residents outside of the Nyack School District may register for remaining program spots after Nyack School District patrons.
- Please notify us directly by phone of cancellations.
- Programs are designed for the intended age group.
- Registration is required for all programs (unless noted otherwise).
