Dear Neighbor,
In 2017 we worked hard to engage our community with a varied and interesting roster of programming for all ages. From birth to older adults, the library offers opportunities for everyone to learn and continue to grow. This is accomplished through a dedicated, customer-oriented staff. They are one of Valley Cottage Library’s biggest assets; they bring the best in service and resources to the community we serve.
In 2017 we continued more programming and story times focusing on early literacy and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) emphasizing the importance of caregiver involvement with early literacy. We have school-aged book discussion groups, Lego building programs as well as yoga for the little ones! Teens are offered writing workshops, cooking and craft classes and SAT prep workshops. And, our 20 to 30-something patrons are fully invested in our Book and Pub Club; a book discussion group that meets in local restaurants. In 2017 we added “adultish” programming for this demographic including game nights and bad art nights. And, the Cookbook Club continues to be delicious!
All of these programs are opportunities for community conversations and what better place for them to develop than your library? Come inside. Your Library has just what you need!
